$19.70/Per Hour Total Compensation Estimator ToolOPS Laboratory Technician IV Department of Environmental Protection The OPS Laboratory Technician IV, 37940283, is in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Scientific Services Support Program, Receiving Group in Tallahassee and will be responsible for packing customer kits for performing field sampling. These samples generate analytical data which is crucial to making informed environmental decisions at the program level. The position incumbent functions as a senior Laboratory Technician, performing technical and clerical work in the Scientific Support Services Program. Prepares and ships sample collection kits that include preparation of trip blanks; arrangement of kit shipment to designated field locations. Assists the custodian with sample discard and performs other laboratory duties as required.

Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the physical or natural sciences. Knowledge of the procedures, equipment and material used in laboratory testing and analysis. Ability to collect, record and analyze laboratory data. Ability to understand and follow technical instructions relating to laboratory testing and analysis. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and travel.
