Senior Buyer role responsible for end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, finished goods, and plant services/equipment for Belimo U.S. (HVAC industry) in Danbury, CT. The Senior Buyer is responsible for supplying Belimo U.S. with raw materials, semi-finished products and components and also auxiliary plant and equipment, spare parts and services provided by third- party companies. The Senior Buyer reports directly to the Team Leader Supply Chain Mechanics Americas in Danbury, CT and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.
What You'll Do
- Procure finished goods, raw materials, semi-finished products and components, auxiliary plant equipment, and spare parts and services
- Procure Market Research and investigate potential new sources of supply with worldwide suppliers
- Assess Short-Term and Long-Term Market Developments
- Establish and Develop Excellent Relationships with Suppliers
- Leading & Managing Sourcing Projects
- Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Management and Optimization of the Supply Chain for All Suppliers
- Ensure Top Quality Products are purchased, with On-Time Delivery and Excellent Pricing is a Priority.
- Manage all purchasing Basic Data in the SAP/R3 System.
Who You Are
- BS Degree in Business or Technical field
- Minimum 5 + years of Purchasing experience including Procurement of Mechanical Components
- Strategic Sourcing experience a plus
- Must have strong Written and Oral Communication skills
- Excellent understanding of MRP and Procurement Tasks
- Strong Negotiation and Analytical skills
- Very Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word; Excellent understanding of ERP systems
- SAP Experience preferred
- Experience working in an ISO 14001 / 9001 Quality Management System
- Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Experience in Importing products from Europe and Asia
- Proficiency in working with an International Freight Forwarder

Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,000 - $95,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 10% of an employee's annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
