Senior Buyer role joining Rohde & Schwarz’s expanding Procurement team in Frederick, MD, focused on sourcing, supplier management, and end-to-end PO execution for direct/indirect materials and services. You’ll partner closely with production planning, warehousing, and program teams to keep manufacturing supplied and on schedule, with scope to grow as the department expands. Your tasks
- Process purchasing requests into purchase orders, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal customers, from order placement to receipt, to ensure vendor quality and schedules are met
- Expedite orders where necessary and update ERP system to reflect order status
- Interface with production planning, warehousing, program management & other stakeholders to ensure sufficient stock availability to support uninterrupted production.
- Locate new sources of supply and maintain good working relationships with vendors and manufacturers
- Review & set up new suppliers and evaluate performance of existing suppliers
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost through negotiations and supplier selection
- Participate in projects procurement and in some cases, management of sub-projects within a defined framework
- Co-operate and co-ordinate, within the scope of task, with suppliers, managers and internal customers.
- Support and act as backup for other team members in their tasks
- Maintain and enhance operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivity
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Your qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or Business and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- Good knowledge of negotiations, costing and PO documentation
- Good experience with SAP MM module and MRP.
- Good knowledge of technical topics in the respective material groups especially within manufacturing & integration
- Familiar with master data principles
- Strong Microsoft Office software skills
- Experience with purchasing multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail oriented and organized, advanced analytical and good problem-solving skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfaces
- Able to achieve work results with minimal supervision
- Experience working with WMS & inventory management is preferred

The total compensation for this position is $66K-$88K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
