Kratos is seeking a Senior Buyer for their Corporate Office onsite in San Diego, CA.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is seeking a purchasing professional with a high level of diversified knowledge and experience in procurement, compliance, and Small Business related activities. The ability to obtain a security clearance is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
• Develop RFQ's utilizing specifications, statements of work or other requirements documents as appropriate.
• Prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals and quotes, negotiate purchase order price and terms.
• Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
• Administer purchase orders to ensure supplier on-time delivery and compliance with order terms.
• Manage performance of Purchase Orders and ensure compliance with all applicable public laws and corporate policies.
• Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency while managing risk.
• Assist off-site procurement groups with buying activities when necessary.
• Assist the procurement compliance manager in the training of division level buyers.
• Provide FAR/DFAR and corporate policy interpretation and guidance to less experienced procurement personnel.
• Assist with resolving complex procurement issues.
• Assist with Small Business outreach, training, and reporting activities.
• Generate various procurement, Small Business and compliance related reports as needed.
• Assist with the continuous improvement of procurement and compliance related manuals, policies, forms, and training materials.
• Work with purchasing management
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ABILITIES, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Experience with Costpoint.
• Prior experience with CPSR preparation and audits.
• A demonstrated track record of achieving substantial cost-savings.
• Experience with Small Business ISR/SSR reporting.
• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as mandated by company and government requirements.
• Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
• Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including for example, training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Office environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Yes, if required.
