MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support the Sponsor's cloud architecture, to include designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud infrastructures, responding to security monitoring requirements, and completing required DevOps automation tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting AWS, Azure, Oracle, and GCP cloud services and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to specific cloud environments
  • Implementing cloud security best practices and leveraging services like Azure Monitor, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel to ensure compliance
  • Writing and maintaining automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI to execute automated workflows
  • Configuring network security groups, application gateways, and other network controls to protect cloud resources
  • Managing cloud compute, storage, networking, and database services while collaborating across teams to address technical needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ additional years of IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing focusing on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions and working with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or Docker
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, or BICEP
  • Familiarity with cloud template technologies and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience automating workflows using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or JSON
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security) or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes across multi-cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically JIRA and Confluence
  • Understanding of Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and NIST SP 800-53 security controls
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
