The Senior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for providing financial expertise and business analysis with a focus on customer contracts, product pricing, and managing the ongoing process to ensure revenue recognition is accurate. Contributes to the development and implementation of business team priorities by participating in joint issue identification, analysis, and resolution. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leadership to maintain a strong understanding of the key business drivers of the assigned area, specific business processes and priorities, and future strategic direction of the assigned area
  • Support the economic analysis of various critical and strategic decisions being pursued within the company
  • Develop and foster a cross-functional team approach, providing financial management support to all levels of the business team
  • Perform periodic analysis to ensure results are aligned with targets and work with leaders across the organization to create actions to close any gaps
  • Be a part of month end financial analysis, inflation review, and budget process
  • Develop additional reporting as needed by the business to provide insight and create action plans to improve results. Primary focus could be generating dashboards to help drive behavior
  • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement efficiencies to achieve business objectives
  • Address issues with appropriate teams to develop a plan of action. Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements and implement best practices
  • Work with business and functional teams to develop consistent management reporting and processes
  • Perform advanced analytics to better understand the critical drivers of our business and develop financial models to support the analysis of results
  • Build strong partnerships with Finance and other functional areas (Operations, Logistics, IT, Procurement) to foster a collaborative network, gain an understanding of pain points, cost drivers, and provide recommendations to manage costs/projects/initiatives including measuring productivity
  • Participate in medium term and strategic planning for the assigned business area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in an analytical role in finance, accounting, business management, quantitative analysis, or economics
  • At least 5 years of experience in applying analytics principles (Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Business Management, Economics or Finance)
  • Strong work ethic with a strong sense of urgency
  • Experience working as the financial liaison on a business team and ability to build and maintain strong cross functional relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Take ownership and be adaptive to the fast-paced nature of the business to manage priorities and pivot as those priorities or scope change
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form with management, internal and external customers
  • Curiosity to understand the intricacies of the business and how things work
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
  • Desire to improve the way we work
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
  • Power BI or other business intelligence tool experience (preferred)
  • TM1 and HFM experience (preferred)
  • SQL Server Management experience (preferred)
  • Data visualization (preferred)
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel modeling and financial business modeling; Microsoft PowerPoint or data visualization tools to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns)
