SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Coming early/staying late often required)

JOB SUMMARY

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of 13 to ensure optimal productivity, minimum downtime, priority management, and optimized job flow. This position is directly responsible to the Production Manager and may receive directions from the General Manager as well.

RESPONSLBILITIES
The following duties are unique to this position:

  • Review all associates production, waste and quality on a timely basis and take corrective action as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure· all company procedures and guidelines are adhered to and administered in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment that is conducive to employee development and job satisfaction.
  • Complete employee performance review
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and that equipment repairs are scheduled
  • Monitor work flow to ensure delivery dates are met and anticipate potential problems in advance.
  • Address all employees concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate all vacations and absences to ensure production requirements are still met.
  • Ensure all employees' time cards are properly prepared and accurate.
  • Record absences and tardiness and take action as guideline dictates.
  • Accurately document all shipped orders and supply data

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in printing industry
  • Previous experience operating bindery and/or Collator machines
  • Experience with leading a team in a professional environment
  • Ability to mechanically troubleshoot basic issues
  • Ability to use hands tools, gauges, and quality control equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand 8 – 12 hours a day.
  • Basic mathematical understanding (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, ratios, etc)
