Circle Academy, a therapeutic special education school serving students in grades K12, is currently seeking two qualified Special Education Teachers to join our team. Our private schools prepare and empower each student for successful experiences in school, at home, and in the community by providing a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic learning environment. We have locations in Urbana and Rossville, IL, and are currently hiring for our Rossville location.

We are looking for dedicated Special Education Teachers who are passionate about providing individualized instruction and fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in students.

Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for establishing a learning environment that provides the highest quality of academic instruction while integrating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and mental health stability. Work with small class sizes in a supportive and positive environment alongside classroom support staff. State of Illinois LBS1 certificate required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver individualized academic instruction to students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher.

  • Integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and mental health strategies into the curriculum.

  • Foster a supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.

  • Collaborate with classroom support staff and other educational professionals to ensure students success.

  • Establish clear and effective communication with families, school leadership, and support staff.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as necessary.

  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring they meet educational and behavioral goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (required).

  • Certification: Valid Illinois LBS1 certification (required).

  • Experience

    Previous experience working with children in a therapeutic or special education setting is preferred.
