Provide diagnostic Computed Tomography Services to inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients under the direction of the supervising radiologist. Position patients correctly using proper immobilization techniques. Perform optimal scans using correct technical factors and protocols based on patient diagnosis and history. Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to minimize radiation exposure. Follow CT Department Technologist workflow including patient identification, history acquisition, order verification, scanning, image sending to PACS, documentation, and charge processing. Initiate IV for administration of contrast media in accordance with department policy and standard precautions. Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and answering questions. Refer difficult complaints or sensitive issues to department management. Transport patients to and from departments when necessary. Assist in transfer of patients on and off the CT table and monitor patient condition during procedures. Provide explanations for testing delays to patients. Obtain and document confidential patient history to ensure exam appropriateness and contrast media administration. Document and charge for supplies used during exams or procedures. Document any allergic reactions, IV extravasations, or unusual occurrences and initiate incident reports as needed. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies and notify ordering personnel when supplies need to be ordered. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and other information. Report to work on time and be ready to start work. Understand and use field of view, kVp, mAs, and other equipment adjustments to produce high quality images. Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation and perform other assigned job duties. Job Requirements
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience. Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology OR College Diploma in related field. Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (IEMA). ARRT - Radiography (R). Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) OR Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) with ABEM or ARRT. BLS - AHA certification. Schedule Information
