Job Summary The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under physician direction in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. Procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. Customers include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Job Responsibilities

Provide technical support for IR and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations. Assist with sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures, such as tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization. Operate advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and protocols. Ensure compliance with safety standards and radiation safety practices. Instruct students and residents; perform preceptor duties as needed. Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment. Maintain supply inventory for IR and neuro IR procedures. Utilize UHS information systems, including IR scheduling. Review coding procedures for accurate billing of IR and neuro IR procedures. Stay updated on new techniques and technology through lectures, seminars, and readings. Adhere to clinical principles and methods during interventional diagnostic procedures. Maintain patient and hospital confidentiality. Comply with hospital policies on incident reporting. Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in radiologic technology. New York State license as Radiologic Technologist. ARRT(R) certification. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).

Continuous learning and technical expertise. Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
