Under general supervision and guidance, the MRI Technologist I provides specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patients. This entry-level role focuses on achieving initial competencies to support medical staff in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring various conditions and diseases. Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care in various settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient practices, diagnostic centers, and outreach clinics. Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered procedures. Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals. Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures. Review post-procedure documentation to ensure compliance with protocols and accreditation standards. Transfer images and data to archival systems, document technical findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting. Perform quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Engage in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies and improve care quality. Required Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited cardiovascular specialty program or JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program. Core knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular/radiologic technologies. Ability to apply primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques with general supervision. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency in multitasking and maintaining composure in stressful situations. Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher. Certifications & Licensure
Eligibility for MRI Certification (must be achieved within 12 months of hire). AHA BLS certification.
