Job Summary As an integral part of the clinical care team, the Patient Care Associate is responsible for patient care and support activities promoting patient-focused care within the Specialty Service. The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, collecting specimens, performing procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting registered nurses in patient care activities.

Required Qualifications

Successful completion of the Patient Care Associate Orientation Program offered at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred. Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Specialty Service. Ability to set priorities, problem-solve, use proper judgment in difficult situations, and be flexible. Sufficient oral and writing skills in English to communicate effectively. Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a variety of tasks and skills in the area of assignment. AHA HeartSaver or BLS certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a healthcare setting.

Additional Information

Exposed to a variety of clinical conditions, technologies, and environmental settings. Work requires a high school level of knowledge (graduate or equivalent) to prepare reports, keep records, and deal effectively with people.
