BLS ARRT Job Details
Responsible for administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation using advanced linear accelerators, Tomotherapy treatment units, or proton therapy units. Recording and verifying treatment software; simulating patients in accordance with prescription and instruction of radiation oncologists. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Administer daily prescribed doses for radiation therapy treatments and adhere to standard work. Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self and others and utilize appropriate health and safety equipment. Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription. Educate, prepare and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians’ advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families and visitors. Contributes to the training of radiation therapy students. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. Other duties as assigned Job Requirements
ARRT or NMTCB certification required. BLS certification (AHA only). State License/Certificate verification required with primary source verification and copy of license/certificate needed (state specific registry). Proof of immunizations or titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella required; no declinations accepted. Fit test required for all travelers with make/model to be completed within a year of start. Driver's License/State ID required. 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required with specific timing requirements. Social Security Card required. Criminal background check results including multiple searches required within 60 days of start covering last 7 years, updated annually. Employment verification for 5 years required. 10 panel drug screening completed within 30 days of start required; rapid drug screen not accepted. COVID-19 Vaccine is optional but recommended (most up-to-date vaccination card showing fully vaccinated). Influenza vaccine required September through April with medical/religious exemptions considered case by case with physician's statement or signed traveler statement. Annual Negative PPD and Annual TB Questionnaire optional if 2 step PPD not done within past year. Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray completed within 90 days of start, uploaded with positive test results.
