The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care through the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and resource management within the institution's philosophy. Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents. Communicates directly and privately to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback for professional development of peers and collaborates to expand knowledge. Identifies own learning needs and initiates appropriate solutions. Fulfills all departmental competency requirements. Department specific functions include assessing IV sites every 4 hours, starting new IVs per policy, maintaining documentation standards evidenced by quarterly chart audits, attending 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year, and identifying/responding to changes in patient status. Job Requirements

Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience. Must have current Trauma 1 certification between 6 months to 1 year as listed by the facility where they worked. Must have EPIC experience. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. Basic computer knowledge including word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browsing. Multicultural sensitivity. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. Required Education: ASN. Preferred Education: BSN. Required Certifications & Licensure: Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association). Schedule Information
