Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for working in a wafer fabrication cleanroom processing semiconductor wafers using equipment and processes used in wafer fabrication. Process may include photolithography, thin film coatings, wet and/or dry etch, annealing, grinding, and/or dicing. Responsible for following manufacturing process instructions and for using safe practices including use of PPE when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process wafers as instructed using wafer fabrication processes.
  • Organize workflow.
  • Maintain current wafer fabrication processes.
  • Troubleshoot and correct process issues.
  • Perform basic data analysis and record data as requested.
  • Work with wet benches and chemicals used in etching processes.
  • Work in collaboration with process sustaining engineers.
  • Summarize and communicate findings accurately to engineering team and management as needed.
  • Operate photo resist coaters, mask aligners, metal evaporators, PECVD, wet etch, grinders, dicing saws, or other equipment and processes in wafer fabrication.
  • Process wafers according to detailed wafer traveler documentation.
  • Communicate any issues with equipment to equipment maintenance; perform basic preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Suggest and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Follow safety procedures and always use PPE when required.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Good conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written; possesses the ability to interface effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Good computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AS in technical field, engineering, or science.
  • 3 years of experience working in semiconductor manufacturing environment with direct, hands-on experience in wafer fabrication.
  • Hands-on experienced and skilled with equipment used in wafer fabrication; photolithography, metal evaporators, PECVD, grinding, dicing, etc.
  • Experienced with basic electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Good with data analysis.

Education

High School diploma.

Compensation

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $24-$29/hr plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in a Class 100 cleanroom environment. The employee must be able to suit up and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods. It requires frequent standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. Data entry will be a necessary part of the job. May stand for extended periods when operating equipment or walking in the facilities.
