About the Role
As an Assembly Technician, you’ll assemble precision optical, electronic, and mechanical components used in advanced laser systems. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that spans both component and sub-system level builds. You’ll perform optical alignment, bonding, metrology, and cleanroom-based assembly tasks while following exacting specifications. The work is well suited for someone with strong fine motor control, a quality mindset, and a commitment to clean, process-focused manufacturing.

What You’ll Do
• Assemble optical components, electronics, and mechanical parts into complex laser system assemblies
• Perform optical assembly and alignment techniques, including adhesive dispensing, curing, and shimming
• Use robotic dispensing equipment and adjust speed, timing, or output to meet clearance and quality requirements
• Assemble optomechanical subassemblies following written procedures and required documentation
• Conduct optical metrology measurements, including surface figure, transmitted wavefront error, and dimensional and angular checks
• Follow cleanroom practices, maintain contamination-free work areas, and use ultrasonic and cleanline cleaning equipment
• Check all work thoroughly prior to sign-off
• Power down equipment and return tools, components, and paperwork to designated storage locations
• Record process data accurately on process sheets and in computer systems
• Follow torque limiting tool procedures and ESD handling practices
• Support department cleanliness and organization
• Occasionally work overtime or alternate shifts to support shipping schedules
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring
• 3+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience; optics or laser systems exposure preferred
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree or certificate highly preferred
• Strong manual dexterity and fine motor control when handling sensitive optics
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and comfort working with finished surfaces
• Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely and consistently
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic computer usage
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and process discipline

Why This Role Stands Out
You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge laser and optical technologies in a precision-focused manufacturing environment. The team emphasizes quality, consistency, and continuous improvement, with clear opportunities for skill development and long-term career growth. Consistent shifts and meaningful technical work make this a strong opportunity for someone looking to deepen their experience in advanced photonics manufacturing.
