Job Description

The 5-Axis CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and optimizing complex CNC programs for 5-axis machining centers. This role requires expertise in CNC programming, advanced knowledge of machining techniques, and proficiency in using CAD/CAM software to produce high-precision parts and components. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Program Development:
    • Create and modify CNC programs for 5-axis machining centers using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, CATIA).
    • Develop detailed setup instructions and tooling specifications for machining processes.
    • Optimize existing programs to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance part quality.
  • Machine Setup and Operation:
    • Set up and configure 5-axis CNC machines, including loading and aligning workpieces and tooling.
    • Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient machining.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining processes, tooling, or program errors.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
    • Utilize knowledge of materials, cutting tools, and machine capabilities to select appropriate machining parameters.
