The Robert J Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC)

is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist to serve Veteran patients of the facility. The incumbent may be asked to provide care in various settings to include the operating room, endoscopy procedure room, Invasive Radiology, CT and MRI, Cath Lab, and the Emergency Department. The duties and responsibilities of the Anesthesiologist include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsible for all aspects of medical care and provide or assist residents and/or the mid-level practitioner in the process of evaluation and treatment of the Surgery and Endoscopy patients who require Anesthesia

Evaluate the patient to assess changes in physical and mental status. A progress note is written in the patient's chart. Notes also include the concurrence of notes written by the resident and mid-level, as appropriate.

Coordinating with providers within and outside of their own Service Line, and with other VHA facilities or community providers as determined by the plan of care for the veteran.

Ensuring that barriers for Veterans and staff are minimized in order to promote a positive work environment, and foster positive working relationships with staff, peers and Veterans.

Expected to share on-call responsibilities with other anesthesiologists
