Job Summary

Working cell leader who, in addition to helping build equipment, is also responsible for assisting supervisor with daily work assignments and directing employees who report to production supervisor in specific work areas (i.e. flow lanes, sub-assembly areas). Additional work area assignments may apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Setting expectations for all pipe department employees with timeframes to complete tasks.
  • Work from bill of material (BOM), assembly drawings, prints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to pipe units; has knowledge of how brazing is done and reading blueprints, supplying employees with the information they need from engineering.
  • Lead morning meetings with their direct reports in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Update production boards and provide updates to the team members at our daily meetings.
  • Order fittings and other necessary materials needed to complete piping tasks.
  • Receive and sign for purchased components and materials needed to build specific work orders in the piping area.
  • Ensure scheduled orders are built per the production schedule to meet scheduled ship dates, understanding various task times and how to complete jobs within the time given.
  • Direct and assist flow lane and subassembly employees with daily work assignments.
  • Ensure daily labor is entered and in-process check sheets are completed as required.
  • Responsible for safety awareness and enforcement of safety practices (including the use of PPE).
  • Assist supervisor with skills and knowledge development of existing and new employees.
  • Complete quality assurance inspection and in-process paperwork.
  • Maintain safe, and organized work area. Notify supervisor or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation.

Other Duties:

  • Perform or assist with any operations throughout the factory as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to assist with training new employees, integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demand:

  • Occasionally move up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach.
  • Visual and aural acuity
  • Listening

Hours of Work Required:

  • Standard work schedules plus overtime and weekend hours will be required as needed to meet production demands.
