Our client, a healthcare and institutional food service provider, is seeking a Cook to join their team. As a Cook, you will be part of the Food Service Department supporting the kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Cook

Location

Marquette, MI

Pay Range: $17.50 per Hour

Shift: 11:45am – 8:15 pm. Some weekends and holidays.

What's the Job?

  • Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas in compliance with health regulations.
  • Supervise and assist food service staff in the absence of the lead cook or manager.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with food and supply ordering and storage.
  • Participate in training and ensure compliance with facility policies, including HIPAA, patient rights, and emergency preparedness.

What's Needed?

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to obtain a ServSafe certification within a reasonable timeframe on the job.
  • Experience in institutional cooking, food service, and knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in hot/damp environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or under supervision.
