We're looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue team based in Stoke-on-Trent.


Location

Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue, Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our supportive team in a role that combines finance administration with facilities management. As a Facilities Assistant, you'll play a vital part in ensuring smooth financial operations for the Stoke & Staffordshire Fire and Rescue PFI contract. What will you be responsible for?


As a Facilities Assistant, you'll be working within the Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue team, supporting them in delivering high-quality finance administration for the contract. Your day to day will include:



  • Managing Work In Progress financial trackers and raising purchase orders to maintain accurate budget oversight

  • Coordinating lifecycle requests and damage trackers, ensuring timely invoicing to the Authority

  • Supporting the Contracts Manager to maximise cashflow and minimise debt through effective financial monitoring

  • Liaising with the Supply Chain and central Finance team to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting

  • Maintaining quality systems and promoting an inclusive workplace culture within the team


What are we looking for?


This role of Facilities Assistant is great for you if:



  • You have previous experience working within the PFI industry and understand the contractual requirements

  • You hold a Full driving licence and are comfortable travelling between sites

  • You bring at least two years' experience in a similar finance administration or facilities role

  • You have strong knowledge of building maintenance and general facilities management

  • You're collaborative, trustworthy, and focused in your approach, with the flexibility to work occasional out-of-hours in emergencies
