Waste Connections, is looking for a safety-conscious Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Phoenix, AZ!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate training of mechanics on shift.
  • Work hands-on with the maintenance staff and not be afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Assign, review and ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians, this will be done daily utilizing RTA and other tracking methods.
  • Trains and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Work with maintenance manager to provide daily communications to operations on down equipment and operational needs.
  • Promote collaboration between and among personnel.
  • Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and all shop personnel, daily documented tailgates.
  • Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget responsibility will be assigned for certain lines of spending.
  • Perform quality control inspection and work observations.
  • Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have excellent working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with heavy equipment and yellowiron is a plus
  • Post-collections waste experience is a plus
  • Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years mechanic experience with equipment maintenance and repair. (Waste industry experience desired)
  • Ability to train and motivate staff a must.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Valid drivers license
