Vertiv Group is seeking an HVM-NETA Electrical Testing Sales Engineer to expand our electrical testing and commissioning services business across the Electrical, Technology and Manufacturing sectors. Vertiv designs, builds, and services critical infrastructure that powers data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities. In this role, you will blend technical expertise in power systems with a strong sales acumen to help customers improve reliability, safety, and performance of their electrical infrastructure.
As an HVM-NETA Electrical Testing Sales Engineer, you will focus on selling high-voltage and medium-voltage (HVM) NETA-compliant testing, commissioning, and maintenance services for switchgear, transformers, protective relays, UPS systems, and other critical power equipment. You will work closely with data centers, industrial plants, utilities, OEMs, and commercial facilities to understand their operational risks, maintenance requirements, and compliance obligations, then translate those needs into tailored Vertiv service solutions.
You will serve as a key technical resource during the sales process, collaborating with Vertiv’s engineering, field service, and project management teams to properly scope work, define test plans, and build accurate proposals. Responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new opportunities, conducting site visits and system walkdowns, preparing cost estimates and technical proposals, and delivering persuasive presentations that highlight the value of NETA-compliant testing and Vertiv’s broader infrastructure portfolio. You will manage a sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and drive opportunities from initial engagement through contract award, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Success in this position requires a solid understanding of electrical power systems and testing practices, including equipment such as medium- and low-voltage switchgear, breakers, transformers, protective relays, and power distribution units. Familiarity with NETA standards, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and common test methodologies is highly desirable. You will be expected to interpret one-line diagrams, read specifications, engage effectively with consulting engineers and contractors, and communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, customer-focused manner.
