CPV Manufacturing, an industrial valve manufacturer in Kennett Square, is looking for a Junior Buyer to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting with the raw material flow function, purchasing raw materials, supplies and consumables for manufacturing and providing support to production scheduling on all raw material needs to meet production schedules and customer requirements. This position is on-site, daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports purchasing by helping ensure raw materials, components, and outside services arrive on time to keep production moving
  • Helps ensure the timely delivery of all materials
  • Assist in purchasing non-inventory and inventory materials as needed
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to confirm commitments and prevent delays
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP database
  • Cover Senior Buyer when needed
  • Learn to interpret basic material specifications and drawings
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the initiative to dig into issues and propose solutions
  • Understanding a sense of urgency, organization, and strong communication with all departments
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications / Skills:
  • High school diploma
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • ERP/MRP experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive with natural curiosity, strong computer and organization skills, and the problem-solving ability to navigate a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • The employee will mostly be working in an office environment
  • Must be able to sit / stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to wear proper PPE
