We are looking to recruit a Linux Engineer on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Database Engineering Manager, this is a key role within the Cloud function.

More about your role 

The Linux Engineer will be accountable for the Unix infrastructure on-premises and Linux environments in the cloud.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for the design and engineering build of Linux / Unix / Storage solutions. You will lead on the design of less complex technology solutions, aligned to business requirements and user-led designs. In addition, you will perform comprehensive technical (unit and integration) testing of new solutions. This role is based on site 2 days a week in Preston.

More about you 

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role. Experience of working with Cloud Platforms and a track record of working within a database environment is desired though not essential.

  • Experience of working with Linux, Unix and SAN Solutions.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP are desired.
  • Previous experience working with infrastructure hardware and networking would be advantageous.
