Job Responsibilities

  • Program CNC mills using Camworks.
  • Must also be able to program and operate one or more of the following Specialty machines: CNC Grinder, CNC High Speed Mills or Wire EDM.
  • Must be capable and willing to train other machinists, showing them the proper way to use common shop Machine tools and inspection equipment
  • Set up and operate various types of machine tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, etc., selecting proper feeds and speeds
  • Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions to make parts.
  • Reading complex prints, designs, able to transfer in and out of CNC machines
  • Must be able to read G & M code.
  • Makes fixtures for machines
  • Perform hand operations such as filing, fitting, tapping, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience in a machine shop is required
  • Experience with 3-axis milling is required
  • CNC mill programming experience preferred
  • Experience with CAMWorks and SolidWorks or equivalent CAM and CAD software is required
  • Experience with 5-axis milling is preferred
  • EDM experience preferred
  • Knowledge of precision measuring devices
  • Work to close tolerances
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches
  • Advanced shop mathematics skills
  • Broad knowledge of machine shop practices
  • Proven mechanical aptitude
