Pertemps Isle of Wight is currently recruiting for an experienced

Marine Mechanic / Marine Engineer

to join a leading marine engineering business based in East Cowes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled and supportive team working on a variety of marine vessels and equipment. If you're a hands-on engineer with a passion for fault finding, mechanical repairs and keeping vessels operating at their best, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Diagnosing mechanical and engineering faults on marine equipment and vessels.

Carrying out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance.

Installing, removing and overhauling marine engines and associated systems.

Working on propulsion systems, steering, fuel, hydraulic and cooling systems.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.

Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

Working collaboratively within a professional engineering team.

About You We're looking for candidates who have:

Previous experience as a Marine Mechanic, Marine Engineer or Mechanical Technician.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Experience maintaining diesel engines, mechanical systems or marine equipment.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to health and safety.

Candidates from automotive, HGV, plant, agricultural or military engineering backgrounds with transferable mechanical skills are encouraged to apply. Marine experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
