The Member Services Associate is responsible for engaging with guests and members at Member Services and in the Membership office in order to assist with membership purchases and renewals, generate additional sales, and ensure excellent customer service by problem-solving any guest needs.
Key Responsibilities 1. Responds to member needs via onsite, phone, and email, which may include membership purchases and upgrades, member event reservations, guest ticket sales, and other membership questions. 2. Enters, verifies, and updates membership data in Ticketure and Humanitru systems. 3. Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of Ticketure and Humanitru systems to assist in processing and importing memberships and event registrations. 4. Maintains an ongoing knowledge base of Aquarium offerings, including member benefits, seasonal promotions, IMAX films, Backstage Passes, the River Society, and other special events to promote to members. 5. Listens and communicates effectively with guests, close s sales, and efficiently inputs accurate and detailed data. 6. Works collaboratively with the Membership, Admissions, and Group Sales teams to achieve departmental sales goals and to provide support during downtime. 7. Cross-trains with other departments to stay current on available experiences and opportunities. 8. Assists with event setup, coordination, and execution of internal/member events as needed. 9. Develops extensive knowledge of the Aquarium and the Chattanooga community to provide a “one-stop” planning experience.
Key Requirements Customer service and sales experience required. Cash handling experience preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening). Bilingual in English/Spanish and/or ASL proficiency a plus. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision Ability to solve problems, address complaints, and provide prompt service
recovery. Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software. Ability to work well within a team environment. Ability to multitask in a public facing setting. Ability to operate a cash register and handle money.
Part-time, hourly ($16/hour); Holiday and weekend work as needed. 20-25 hours/week, typically across 3 shifts.
