What Does an OB/GYN Hospitalist Do?
* Care for all pregnant women who present emergently
* Cultivate relationships with staff and hospital personnel
* Support private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance
* Care for unassigned patients
* Evaluate and treat triage patients
* Provide consultation to the ED
* Monitor labor and deliver babies
* Perform surgery and surgical assists
* Evaluate and treat postpartum patients
* Assist with OB residents and medical student education
* Provide nurse support and education
* Participate in emergency drills and simulations
* Develop best practices
