, you’ll lead site Operations employees in safely carrying out all production-related activities while remaining in compliance with quality specifications and government regulations. Maintain a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to safety, respect, and operational policies at Drax. Champions the Drax Safety Program; providing leadership by encouraging and demonstrating a safe and healthy work environment, aligned with company policies and procedures. ~ Works closely and collaboratively with the operations team to achieve operational efficiency. ~ Demonstrates strong communication skills with Drax colleagues, such as the reliability, technical, process, and automation teams. ~ Leads employee development and training initiatives, including maintaining training compliance for equipment operation and safety standards.

Performance Management & Supervision KPI Implementation:

Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for production teams to drive performance and efficiency. Coach, provide feedback, and build strong relationships with employees, while troubleshooting challenges and evaluating performance. Partner with site leadership and HR to support recruitment, training, development, and performance standards, aligning efforts with organizational goals.

Operations Safety Culture Advocate:

Lead by example in championing the Drax Safety Culture throughout all operations. Daily Operations Oversight:

Direct the day-to-day operations of the production department, focusing on safety, personnel management, and process efficiency. Collaborative Maintenance Planning:

Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative, short-term, and long-term projects. Cost Management:

Work proactively to minimize costs and uphold financial standards in collaboration with site leadership. Raw Fibre Management:

Work closely with Yard Supervisor to ensure adequate raw fibre inventory meets plant requirements and ensures proper fibre mix to maximize production and quality targets.

To excel in this vital role, you’ll need: ~ You have 3 to 5 years of progressive supervisory experience, preferably in wood products manufacturing. ~ You are advanced in using Microsoft Office Suite and navigating work order systems, as well as managing employee management systems. ~ You are recognized for your strong business acumen, adaptability, and collaborative approach, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
