PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OPENINGS, BERKSHIRE HEALTH SYSTEMS
Berkshire Health Systems, a leading healthcare provider in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, is currently seeking highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistants to join our team. We have exciting openings available in the Emergency Department, nine different Primary Care Facilities, and the Hospitalist department. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients within our vibrant healthcare system.

Responsibilities


1. Emergency Department (ED):

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with urgent and critical conditions in a fast- paced environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Perform procedures, such as suturing, splinting, and wound care, as required.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of patient care and maintain accurate medical records.

2. Primary Care Facilities:
  • Provide high-quality primary care to patients across nine different facilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify healthcare needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, including minor injuries and infectious diseases.
  • Educate patients about preventive care, lifestyle modifications, and health promotion strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care services.

3. Hospitalist Department:
  • Manage the medical care of patients admitted to the hospital under the care of the hospitalist team.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and procedural interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate responses to treatments, and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate safe and seamless transitions of care.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted licensure as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts.
  • Certification as a Family Physician Assistant (specialty-specific certification preferred).
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team-based healthcare setting.
