The Opportunity:

The Procurement Buyer I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the procurement of materials, components, and services required to meet production and program needs. This position works under general supervision and partners closely with Planning, Engineering, and Production to ensure timely material availability.

Responsibilities


  • Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system (Infor LN or equivalent).
  • Review MRP signals and support material replenishment activities.
  • Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery status.
  • Assist in expediting material shortages to support production schedules.
  • Support price quote requests and basic negotiations under guidance.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and purchase order data.
  • Communicate material status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Support compliance with company policies and government requirements (as applicable).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems (Infor LN experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Desired:

  • Internship or prior experience in manufacturing or government contracting.
  • Familiarity with MRP concepts.
  • Exposure to supplier communication and order management.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
