Production Technician role at AMETEK, a global industrial technology solutions provider, focused on bench-level mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and sub-assembly work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following:
- Performs assembly operations either by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
- Performs assembly under a microscope.
- Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.
- Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
- Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to P.C. boards.
- Performs oil fill operations.
- Conducts tests for some final units.
- Performs life testing programs utilizing a computer.
- Provides training or instruction of co-workers and other employees when needed.
- May operate turning-center-assisted tig welding to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- May rotate to other workstations in the unit.
- Meets or exceeds departments targets set by supervisor/ managers
- Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- 2+ years' experience
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.
- Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing).
