MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented PROJECT MANAGER to join our team in STAFFORD, VIRGINA.

This position supports the Aviation Combat Element (ACE) Branch with a wide variety of tasks, including continuous research, documentation, and managing developmental projects related to crewed and uncrewed aviation capabilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide expertise on the aviation element of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).
  • Guide planning of science and technology (S&T) projects from start to completion by managing schedule, budget, resources, and processes.
  • Ensures program execution and activities adhere to contractual requirements and internal USMC/DOD policies.
  • Sets, communicates, and tracks goals for program according to strategic objectives.
  • Supports / facilitates technical meetings, working groups, reviews, and briefings to include developing reports, presentations, and associated documentation, and by providing post-meeting summaries / meeting minutes.
  • Provides USMC leadership with timely assessments of project performance, as well as early identification of (and intervention in) top-level issues and risks that are impacting (or may impact) performance.
  • Participate in technology demonstrations and formal testing events (both in a lab and field environment).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years aviation experience in Navy or USMC.
  • Experience managing developmental projects and responsibilities with contractors for cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Excellent and proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with customer / sponsor stakeholders and senior / executive leadership in government and industry.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work successfully in fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environments.
  • Experience with the concept of Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a service-level weapons school.
  • Experience in the force modernization and air order of battle concepts.
  • Familiarity with aviation elements and their employment.
  • Experience within the acquisition and requirements framework, particularly focused on S&T and RDT&E work for the development of new equipment.

Clearance Requirements:

Must have an active / current TS/SCI security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
