Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
- 1 year experience in cardiac telemetry or other cardiac care setting preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
- Skilled in EKG rhythm interpretation and other cardiac monitoring techniques
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythm and other critical vital signs, interpreting data to identify any signs of distress or abnormal patterns
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to the medical plan of care
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to evaluate and modify the plan of care as necessary, with a focus on patient's cardiac status
- Educate patients and their families on best practices for heart health, treatment plans, and any relevant home care instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient's condition, treatment, and progress in accordance with hospital and departmental policies
