Execute work orders to process and fabricate germanium and silicon-based crystals into functional radiation detection sensors. The user will be handling acids and other chemicals, as well as basic machining equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Shape and polish germanium crystals and perform chemical etching using acids.
- Electroplating crystal surfaces.
- Inspect crystal surfaces for damage.
- Maintenance of equipment and machinery.
- Recording data and record maintenance.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Assisting in executing regular inventory audits.
- Cleaning and organizing work areas.
- Under Supervision, operate ion implanter and vacuum deposition equipment.
- Under Supervision, test finished crystals.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to measure accurately.
- Knowledge of metric system.
- Basic algebra level math skills.
