The Shipping/Receiving Associate plays an essential role in the movement, handling, inspection, and production support of glass products within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires individuals who are dependable, safety-focused, and motivated to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Associates will support multiple areas of production including glass handling, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material transport.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely move and handle glass from tables, furnaces, rolling racks, delivery trucks, and wooden crates throughout the shift
- Transport glass and materials between workstations and departments to support production flow
- Read and follow work instructions, labels, tags, and picking lists accurately
- Inspect products for defects, damages, or abnormalities and report concerns immediately
- Utilize tape measures and basic measurements to ensure product specifications are met
- Assist in shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and warehouse operations
- Perform quality inspections and maintain product accuracy throughout the production process
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Support multiple production areas and rotate job functions as needed
- Perform additional duties assigned by leadership
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs individually and up to 150 lbs with team assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexible work availability, including overtime and occasional weekends
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or production experience preferred
- Forklift and overhead crane experience are a plus
- Glass industry experience preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
