PRN Surgical Technologist role supporting Main OR procedures on day shifts (7:30am–3:30pm) at UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton, part of UAB Medicine. You’ll set up the OR, maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and support patient positioning and instrument counts. What You Will Do
Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.
