Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are 2:15pm - 10:15pm, Monday through Friday .
Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
Position Summary:
The Thermal Spray Technician is responsible for performing HVOF, plasma, and/or other thermal spray coating operations per customer requirements and job folder specifications.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
Review job folder to verify area of part to be masked, cleaned/or blasted and coated. Confirm all pre-coating requirements have been completed according to the job folder specification.
Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job folder.
Report all coating problems, inaccuracies in the job folder, damaged parts, and/or tooling and fixtures to the Thermal Spray Lead.
Make appropriate use of coating materials, equipment, and documentation.
Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and technical plan requirements.
Completion of assigned spray operation in a timely, accurate manner per work instructions.
Accurate documentation of required data within the job folder.
Attention to detail with a focused goal of zero rework.
Maintaining high-quality output.
Excellent record of attendance with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Assisting the supervisor in developing processes that will improve operations.
100% on-time delivery of assigned projects.
Effective communication and collaboration with supervisor, plant leadership, and co-workers.
Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy requirements:
Keeping the work area neat and orderly at all times.
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Wear appropriate respiratory gear when in the thermal spray booth.
