Provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Assists physician in examination and minor diagnostic procedures. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication, initiates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patient regarding care plan and discharge. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs. Delegates tasks to support staff. Job Requirements
1 year of nursing experience required. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills. Must have level 1 trauma experience and neurology experience. Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Schedule Information
