We are seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, you will help sustain efficient laboratory operations by supporting administrative workflows, internal coordination, records management, and day-to-day customer service needs.

Support procurement requests for laboratory supplies and equipment, including basic market research and documentation
Assemble procurement documents, enter data into automated systems, and help prepare closeout reports
Review purchase card guidance to help ensure records are handled accurately and consistently
Order office supplies for laboratory personnel and monitor inventory levels to support daily operations
Serve as a property support contact by entering new items and coordinating property-related updates
Serve as backup to the primary timekeeper by helping correct time records and enter project codes
Support travel administration by preparing arrangements, authorizations, and vouchers as directed
Process incoming and outgoing mail using agency mailing equipment and UPS/FedEx systems
Answer the main phone line, direct calls, greet visitors, and support front-desk coverage
Help coordinate laboratory events, visitor access, and required facility security procedures
Provide general administrative support, including copying, records management, and process support
Customer-service oriented with a professional approach to staff, visitors, and daily support needs
Knowledge of Google Suite products, including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Docs
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products
Ability to learn government automated systems and administrative processes
Familiarity with government acquisition regulations, policies, processes, and procedures preferred
Ability to read, write, and speak English
High school diploma or equivalent required
Undergraduate degree preferred
