Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. The Assembler is responsible for producing and assembling Centrifugal pumps following ISO procedures and specific instructions.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows assembly prints, routers, specifications, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and pumps in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Operates overhead crane and pallet jacks while moving and assembling product.
  • Prepare parts for assembly.
  • Pick and assemble parts and pumps to meet Customer requirements. Review and verify accurate bill of materials to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Assist other departments to ensure products are completed on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Must have the ability to read and understand assembly prints, measuring instruments, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Must be familiar with portable hand tools and machine tools such as impacts, torque wrenches, calibers etc.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Requires a good work ethic and mechanically inclined.

Experience

  • Experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of bending, turning, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to stand at his/her work bench for the majority of the day without rest.
  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, and depth perception.
