Become part of a dynamic aerospace company. Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is currently looking for a Buyer for its operations center in Creedmoor, NC. Ontic is engaged primarily in electromechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.

Ontic has a long history in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Quote and procure a variety of mechanical, electronics and electro-mechanical components and subassemblies
  • Interpret MRP to determine delivery schedules and maintain responsible inventory levels and cash flow
  • Read drawings, specifications, customer contracts, and other sources of information to ensure order requirements are properly captured and flow down
  • Review, analyze, and manage purchase orders, subcontract agreements, terms and conditions
  • Monitor and manage purchase orders and subcontract performance to achieve results and exceed customer expectations
  • Participate in competitive bidding and analysis of supplier quotations, striving for positive PPV
  • Meet or exceed negotiation objectives/targets with suppliers
  • Expedite assignments and projects to drive results throughout the supply chain
  • Onboard new suppliers and maintain their approved status
  • Operate within authority limits and route purchase orders for approval as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

Minimum educational and work experience requirements for the successful candidate will include the following

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) in business or related field
  • Minimum of 7 in highly regulated industry
  • Government/DOD related sub-contract program management (FAR/DFAR compliance) a plus
  • Understanding of methods of manufacturing, operations/planning/logistics, quality and terms and conditions
  • Read and understand blueprints and specifications
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems to include hands on understanding of demand and supply
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience negotiating pricing and lead time
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Creating and improving processes
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Experience in an Aerospace environment a plus

Compensation Pay Range
