JOB SUMMARY

This position involves the operation of CNC Machinery tools in an efficient manner. The CNC Operator must demonstrate skills and knowledge required to maintain the operation of a CNC machine and fulfill the essential functions of the job.

Reports to: CNC Supervisor / Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts in optimal production condition.
  • Work safely, following all safety regulations, to prevent injuries.
  • Meet production requirements as defined on product routing and notify supervisor immediately if goal cannot be attained.
  • Observe machine observations to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper.
  • Inspect work pieces throughout the production run, for out-of-tolerance machining and record all required readings.
  • Work as a team to troubleshoot manufacturing problems and perform quality assurance checks of the work being performed.
  • Ensure machine is running correctly to prevent damage to the machine or tooling.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience CNC machines and mechanical tools

Requirements and Certifications
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Forklift truck experience is a plus
  • Demonstrate mathematical skills such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Able to read, write and understand work instructions and visual drawings
  • Demonstrate strong attention to details
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Must be able to communicate in English
