Quality Manager role overseeing the company quality system and driving continuous improvement at RCM Industries, a manufacturing/die casting business in Liberty, SC. You'll lead ISO/TS16949 compliance, supplier quality, audits, metrology/lab, and corrective action processes. Standout focus is hands-on technical quality leadership across CMM/metrology and TS/ISO audits.

Reports to: Plant Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Supplier Management
β’ Manage methodologies for evaluation.
β’ Implement supplier evaluation system to certify/qualify supplier, and document these ratings.
β’ Assist supplier to achieve quality system requirements.
β’ Request/evaluate PPAP from subcontractors.
β’ Initiate corrective action requests for subcontractors when product quality is unacceptable.
Quality Audits
β’ Perform internal audits.
β’ Perform subcontractor auditing to quality systems supplier requirements.
β’ Serve as a lead auditor for audit planning, execution, and corrective action.
Statistical Applications
β’ Implement and maintain statistical process for critical dimensions and specifications defined in customer's blue prints.
β’ Ensure special characteristic symbols are included for process steps affecting special characteristics in control plan, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
β’ Track and launch action plan for the continuous improvement of special characteristics.
β’ If needed, issue corrective action requests for investigation to increase process capability.
Management Representative
β’ Perform responsibilities of Management Representative for TS/QA/ISO registration and surveillance audits.
β’ Schedule, lead, and document the management review meeting.
Metrology / Laboratory
β’ Supervise CMM layout personnel, and ensure layouts are performed correctly and timely.
β’ Monitor equipment and department performance.
β’ Assure in-house calibrations are performed.
β’ Verify if subcontracted suppliers are certified.
β’ Have Measuring Systems Analysis performed on gages as needed.
β’ Monitor/guide laboratory technician with calibration of gages.
β’ Order and purchase gages.
β’ Supervise laboratory processes such as metal analysis and control of temperature/humidity.
Corrective Action System
β’ Initiate and follow up on corrective action when required.
β’ Issue RMA (Return Material Authorization) for any customer returns.
β’ Assure MRB (Material Review Board) tags for returned/in-house nonconforming material are issued and placed on product.
β’ Initiate preventive action to be taken through CAR systems as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
β’ An understanding of die casting equipment, processes, and materials is essential.
β’ Knowledgeable with Zeiss (Calypso) and/or Brown & Sharpe (PC DMIS) CMMs
β’ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary to perform root-cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
β’ Computer-literate with Microsoft Office and applications such as CAD
EDUCATION
β’ 2+ Year degree in an engineering-related field
β’ Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
EXPERIENCE
β’ 3 to 5 Years of experience as a quality engineer in a die cast/ISO/TS 16949 environment
β’ Previous experience as an internal auditor
β’ Experienced in environment
