The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional and visual checks of finished products using marked print and control plans. This position also completes destructive testing and polishing requirements on applicable parts and quickly reports all potential problems.

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform first piece inspection of die cast and trim castings.
• Perform last shot inspection.
• Perform final audit of finished product.
• Audit dimensions of produced castings.
• Perform X-ray of castings for which the customer requires certain standards of porosity.
• Perform destructive testing (machining) of castings to determine internal integrity.
• Test the finish of machined surfaces when required.
• Test aluminum alloys in the breakdown and holding furnaces.
• Prepare completion tags for parts that are ready for shipment to the customer.
• Prepare vendor tags for parts that are ready to be shipped to an outside processor.
• Prepare hold tags for parts that are of questionable quality and are to be reviewed and dispositioned.
• Complete in-process sheets for destructive testing, x-ray, and buffing.
• Maintain the destructive test and QC Lab in good working order.
• Clean the work area and maintain files in working order.
• Keep current visual aids at workstations.
• Verify print revisions to part master at the start of a production run.

Education
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a die cast or manufacturing environment

Requirements and Certifications
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate basic mathematical skills - operations, units, fractions, and decimals
• Able to read, write, and understand work instructions, drawings, and blueprints
