POSITION SUMMARY:
Spray paints surfaces of materials or products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies either epoxy paint or rubber adhesive applications using conventional spray techniques and has experience working with both applications.
- Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted.
- Formulates the mixing and proper storage of chemicals and paint.
- Loads and moves materials to work area.
- Cleans work area.
- Performs other routine duties.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years industrial spray painting experience.
- Minimum six months prior experience with blasting equipment and degreasing equipment.
- Minimum six months prior experience with operation of overhead cranes and forklift.
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete manufacturing documents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles of toxic or caustic chemicals with air mask provided.
- Must complete respirator training, and must pass a pulmonary function test and respirator fit test.
- Prolonged standing.
- Frequent bending, pushing, pulling and stooping.
- Frequent lifting to 50 pounds without assistance, greater than 50 lbs with assistance.
- Exposure to loud noises, requiring hearing protection.
- Work in heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
