The Machinist serves as a focal point of all machine operations within the company. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You must be able to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, layout and machining to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
β€’ Must have 3+ years' experience working with CNC Mills/Lathes
β€’ Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
β€’ Work in accordance with plans and specifications.
β€’ Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications using such tools as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc. (English standard and metric.)
β€’ Clean and repair shop equipment.
β€’ Maintain clean and orderly work area.
β€’ Perform work following all applicable safety procedures and policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
β€’ High School diploma or a GED required
β€’ 3+ years as a CNC Machinist. Significant knowledge of CNC machine operation and maintenance.
β€’ 3+ years of relevant experience in Manual Machining.
β€’ Excellent attention to detail
β€’ Able to read blueprints and technical drawings
β€’ Work well independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co workers
β€’ Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade
β€’ Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment.
β€’ Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time
β€’ Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
β€’ Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change and unexpected events.
