The UNC Department of Neurology is seeking a Pediatric Epileptologist to join its growing and collaborative team.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care in pediatric neurology and epilepsy

  • Participate in inpatient general child neurology and epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) services

  • Interpret routine EEGs, stereo-EEGs, evoked potentials, and long-term video EEGs

  • Participate in pre-surgical diagnostic evaluations for pediatric epilepsy

  • Conduct pediatric neurology and epilepsy subspecialty outpatient clinics

  • Teach and supervise residents and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations

Clinical Expertise

  • Experience with multimodal epilepsy surgery diagnostic evaluations

  • Planning and interpretation of stereo-EEG for seizure localization

  • Collaborative surgical planning with pediatric neurosurgery

  • Familiarity with advanced surgical and neuromodulation approaches, including Laser interstitial thermal ablation (LITT) and Deep brain stimulation (DBS) for pediatric patients

  • Working knowledge of high-density scalp EEG recordings

  • Experience with subdural grid and depth electrode stereotactic techniques for pre-surgical epilepsy evaluation

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Epilepsy
