Quality Control Technician

Northbrook, IL / On-Site

Rate of Pay: Starting at $21.00/hr

1st Shift

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor.

The Quality Control Technician conducts all necessary testing analysis to ensure specifications are met prior to product release by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs required sample analysis, collection, prepping, assembly.
  • Completes data entry of test results and maintain records.
  • Respond to quality questions from customers and handle quality issues from supervisors and operators. *
  • Operates laboratory equipment; both manual and automatic.
  • Processes incoming samples and assists in processing outgoing samples.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated person.

Minimum Requirements:

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and quality control software.
  • Demonstrates versatility and ability to maintain multiple tasks Strong organizational skills in providing sample analysis.

Physical Environment:

  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Walk and climb stairs.
  • Use hands to remove or lift boxes; Stretch and reach with arms extended; Stoop and bend.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is starting at $21.00/hr.
